Common assembly issues
The four most common issues during assembly — panel fit, stripped screws, door alignment, and damage — and how to handle each.
Panels don't seem to fit
Most fit issues come from foundation level. Re-check your foundation with a level. If the surface has shifted or settled, the wall panels won't sit flush. Address the foundation before forcing panels.
If the foundation is level, check that you're using the correct panels in the correct positions. The assembly guide has a layout diagram showing which panel goes where. Panels are similar but not identical, so a misplaced panel will create alignment problems.
Screws strip when driven
Use a Phillips bit that fits snugly and drive at a moderate speed. Driving too fast or with a worn bit causes stripping. If a screw strips, contact our team for replacement hardware. Don't force a stripped screw; remove it and use a fresh one.
Door doesn't close cleanly
The door alignment depends on the wall panels around it being plumb (vertical). Use your level to check the door frame's vertical edges. If they're off plumb, loosen the adjacent wall panel fasteners, adjust to plumb, and re-tighten.
If the door is plumb but still doesn't close cleanly, the hinges may need adjustment. The hinges have small adjustment screws that allow fine-tuning. See the assembly guide for hinge adjustment, or contact our team for a video walkthrough.
