Buy your sauna with confidence. You have 365 days from delivery to decide if it's right for you, or you can return it. We arrange the return freight, you pack the sauna back into its original crate, and we deduct a standard restocking fee from your refund.

365-day returns at a glance

Buy your sauna with confidence. You have 365 days from the date your sauna is delivered to start a return for any reason.

When you return your sauna, we deduct a 25% restocking fee from your refund. This fee covers return freight, processing, inspection, and refurbishment for resale. We arrange the freight pickup with our carrier — you don't have to figure out LTL shipping.

How to start a return

The process is straightforward:

  1. Email us at support@bettrsauna.co with your order number and the reason for the return.
  2. We confirm within one business day. We send a Return Authorization (RA) number and a freight pickup window.
  3. You prepare the crate following our packing guide. The sauna must be disassembled and packed back into the original crate.
  4. Our carrier picks up the crate at your address. An adult 18 or older needs to be present. Pickup is curbside.
  5. We inspect when the unit arrives at our warehouse.
  6. We refund your original payment method, minus the 25% restocking fee, within 7-10 business days of receipt.

When the return window starts

Return window

The date the freight carrier records the delivery on the bill of lading.

If the carrier records a delivery you didn't actually receive, contact us right away. We'll work with the carrier to confirm what happened and adjust the return window if their record is wrong.

What's required for a return

Original crate
Required for return shipping. Saunas cannot ship safely without one.
Sauna condition
Disassembled and packed back into the crate per our packing guide.
Included parts
Heater, control unit, stones, hardware, and any included accessories returned with the sauna.

If you don't have your original crate, we cannot accept the return. The crate is custom-built for your sauna and is the only safe way to ship a 600+ lb unit by freight. To keep your return option open, store the crate after delivery (a basement, shed, or garage works).

Restocking fee

25% of your sauna's purchase price.

Return freight, receiving, inspection, testing, and refurbishment for resale.

Your refund. You don't pay it upfront.

We use a single inclusive fee instead of separate freight charges so you know exactly what your refund will be when you start the return.

Refund timing

Refunds are issued to your original payment method within 7-10 business days after the sauna arrives at our warehouse and passes inspection.

Once we issue the refund, your bank or card issuer typically takes another 3-5 business days to post it to your statement. Total time from carrier pickup to refund-on-statement is usually 2-3 weeks.

Cancellation before shipment

Anytime between order placement and the sauna leaving our warehouse.
Why we charge it
Covers payment processing fees and order admin work that's already been done.

To cancel before shipment, email us at support@bettrsauna.co. If your sauna has already shipped, we cannot cancel — the order becomes a return and the 25% restocking fee applies instead.

Damage on delivery

If the crate looks damaged when it arrives — dents, holes, water marks, signs of forklift impact — write "Possible Concealed Damage" on the bill of lading before you sign. Take photos of the crate from multiple angles. Save all packaging. Then contact us within 5 business days at support@bettrsauna.co. We file the freight claim and arrange replacement parts or a replacement unit at no charge to you.

If the crate looks fine but you find damage during assembly, contact us within 5 business days of delivery with photos. We'll work with you on parts or replacement.

Damage discovered after the 5-day window may not be covered as freight damage. Manufacturing defects are covered separately under our warranty.

What's not returnable

The 365-day return doesn't apply to:

  • Saunas damaged by misuse, improper installation, or modifications outside the installation manual.
  • Saunas missing significant parts (heater, control unit, glass door, hardware).
  • Saunas where the structural integrity has been compromised by the customer (cuts, drilling, modifications).
  • Sauna stones, accessories, or consumables that have been used or are no longer in resellable condition.

If you're unsure whether your situation qualifies, email us first — we'd rather work through it before you ship.

Delivery to a freight forwarder, mail-forwarding service, or rerouting to a country we don't ship to voids your return eligibility. We can only accept returns from the original delivery address in our supported regions.

Defective products and warranty

If your sauna has a manufacturing defect — heater failure, control unit malfunction, structural issue not caused by installation or use — that's covered by warranty, not by this return policy.

The Bettr Sauna structural warranty covers the cabin and benches for 3 years. The Harvia heater and control unit are covered by Harvia's manufacturer warranty for 2 years. See our Warranty page for full coverage details and the claim process.

Your statutory rights

This policy describes our voluntary 365-day return window. It does not limit any non-waivable rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws, including remedies for goods that are defective, unsafe, not as described, or not fit for their stated purpose.

If you're shopping from Australia, the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) applies; consumer guarantees under the ACL cannot be limited or excluded by this policy. If you're shopping from Canada, your provincial consumer protection rights apply. We honor these rights regardless of any term in this policy.
