- Run a dedicated 40A double-pole circuit on 240V single-phase
- Use 8 AWG copper conductor
- Hardwire to the heater per the Harvia wiring diagram included with the unit
- Install an isolation switch near the sauna for service access
- Outdoor installations: use direct-burial-rated cable in conduit, buried 18-24 inches deep per local code
- House the control unit in a dry/weatherproof location — never inside the sauna cabin
The Harvia heater nameplate references 230V (CE/EU standard). It runs identically on US 240V split-phase service — voltage tolerance is well within manufacturer spec. The 4-Person's 40A draw is the most common breaker size for premium DTC outdoor saunas in the 8 kW class.
