The Ritual 8-Person uses the Harvia "The Wall" SW90E heater rated at 9.0 kW. This is the highest power draw in the Ritual line and most often requires panel verification before installation.

For your electrician
- Run a dedicated 50A double-pole circuit on 240V single-phase
- Use 8 AWG copper conductor (6 AWG copper for runs over 50 ft from panel)
- Verify the panel has spare capacity for a 50A circuit before quoting — older 100A and 150A panels often do not
- Hardwire to the heater per the Harvia wiring diagram included with the unit
- Install an isolation switch near the sauna for service access
- Outdoor installations: use direct-burial-rated cable in conduit, buried 18-24 inches deep per local code
- House the control unit in a dry/weatherproof location — never inside the sauna cabin
If your panel doesn't have capacity for the 50A circuit, your electrician may recommend a panel upgrade. The Harvia heater nameplate references 230V (CE/EU standard); it runs identically on US 240V split-phase service.
