Glass door and window
8 mm tempered safety glass with factory tinting — heat-treated for impact resistance, tinted in the glass itself (not as a film).
The door and window panels use 8 mm tempered safety glass with factory tinting.
- Tempering
- Heat-treated for impact resistance and safety. Tempered glass is significantly stronger than annealed glass and breaks into small fragments rather than sharp shards if it does fail.
- Tinting
- Applied at the factory during manufacture. Tinting is in the glass itself, not a film applied to the surface, so it doesn't peel, fade, or wash off.
- Why tempered
- Sauna doors and windows experience significant temperature differentials between the cabin interior and the exterior. Tempered glass handles this differential without stress fractures that would form in untempered glass.
- Cleaning
- See Section 10.9.
