Stones don't require active maintenance during normal use.

During use

Stones don't need cleaning between sessions
After löyly, the stones will have mineral residue from evaporated water. This is normal and doesn't affect performance.
Avoid pouring water on stones that haven't been heated. Cold water on cold stones doesn't make steam and can crack stones.

Visually inspect stones monthly for visible cracks or shattered pieces
Replace any obviously broken stones
Once a year, restack the stones. Vibration and heat cycling causes them to settle and pack tighter over time. Restacking restores air flow.
