WiFi controller drops connection

Likely causes (router restart, range, channel congestion, ISP outage) and four solutions to try first.

Possible causes

  • WiFi router restart or firmware update
  • Range issues (controller is too far from the router)
  • Router channel congestion (other devices on the same channel)
  • ISP outage (your home internet went down)

Solutions

  • Restart the controller (toggle power, wait 30 seconds, power back on)
  • Restart your router
  • Move the router closer or add a WiFi extender
  • Check your internet connection on a phone or computer

If drops are frequent (more than once or twice a week with stable internet), contact our team.
