Keep the path to the door clear of ice. Slip hazards near the sauna are a real concern.
After heavy snowfall, clear the roof of any accumulation greater than 12 inches (30 cm)
After ice storms, gently inspect the unit for any ice buildup that might affect door operation or vents
In extreme cold (below -20°F / -29°C), expect heat-up time to extend to 35 to 40 minutes; this is normal

If your area gets significant snow, a snow rake works well for clearing the roof from ground level.
