Alcohol and sauna

Section 14.2Health and safety

Alcohol and sauna

Never use the sauna while intoxicated or after consuming alcohol. Documented fatalities exist; this is a hard rule.

Alcohol impairs your body's heat regulation, dehydrates you, and impairs your judgment about when to leave. The combination significantly increases the risk of heat exhaustion, fainting, and serious injury. There are documented fatalities from alcohol-impaired sauna use.

If you have been drinking, do not enter the sauna. This applies to even small amounts of alcohol.
