Children and sauna use
General age guidelines for kids — no children under 6, conservative protocols for ages 6-17, always with adult supervision.
Children can use saunas with proper supervision and at appropriate temperatures, but the guidance is more conservative than for adults.
General age guidelines
- Under 6 years old: not recommended. Their thermoregulation isn't fully developed.
- 6 to 12 years old: short sessions (5 to 10 minutes) at lower temperatures (140°F / 60°C or below), always with adult supervision
- 13 to 17 years old: similar to adult use but with more conservative duration and temperature, always with adult supervision
If a child is uncomfortable, lightheaded, or wants to leave, leave immediately. Don't push them to stay longer.
