Coordinating with your electrician

Preferred sequence (assembly first, then final wiring) vs. alternative (rough wiring first, connect after assembly). What to share with your electrician.

The electrical work is one of the larger logistical pieces of installation. Plan it carefully.

Preferred sequence

  1. Foundation prepared and level
  2. Sauna delivered and unpacked
  3. Sauna assembled (cabin complete, heater mounted, stones loaded)
  4. Electrician makes final wiring connections
  5. Sauna ready for first fire-up

Alternative sequence

  1. Foundation prepared and level
  2. Electrician installs rough wiring and isolation switch in advance
  3. Sauna delivered and assembled
  4. Electrician returns for final connections to the heater

Either sequence works. The first is more common because it avoids needing a second electrician visit.

What to share with your electrician (see Section 4.6 to 4.10)

  • Your sauna model
  • Your selected voltage and phase (single or three-phase)
  • The Harvia heater wiring diagram (included in your sauna documentation)
  • Distance from the panel to the sauna location
  • Whether the run is indoor or outdoor
Permit pulling
Your electrician typically pulls the electrical permit as part of their work. Verify this when scheduling.
