Post-winter exterior inspection — damage from snow load and freeze-thaw, drainage restoration, roof shingle check.

After winter, do a thorough exterior inspection.

Look for any damage from snow load, ice, or freeze-thaw cycles
Verify drainage around the foundation. If snowmelt has eroded the area around the base, restore the drainage.
Inspect the roof shingles for any lifted edges or damage from wind and weather
Clean any leaves or debris that accumulated around the base
For coastal installations: rinse the exterior with fresh water if winter storms brought heavy salt deposits

Spring is also a good time to do an annual stone restack (Section 8.6) and a thorough wood inspection.
