Heater maintenance schedule
What to do after every session, monthly, yearly, every 2-3 years, and as needed for the Harvia heater.
The Harvia heater requires minimal maintenance over its lifespan.
After every session
- Turn off the heater (or let the timer expire)
- Crack the door open to let the cabin dry as the heater cools
- Don't pour water on the stones during cool-down (this is a common mistake that splashes water on hot heating elements and shortens their life)
Monthly
- Visually inspect the stones for cracks or shattered pieces. Replace any obviously broken stones.
- Check the heater cabinet for excessive dust accumulation. Wipe down with a dry cloth if needed.
Yearly
- Restack the stones (Section 8.6)
- Inspect the heating elements visually when the heater is cold and the stones are removed. Look for cracks or visible damage. Contact our team if you see anything concerning.
- Verify the controller is responding accurately. If the temperature reading seems off (the cabin doesn't feel as hot as the display says), contact our team.
Every 2 to 3 years
- Replace the stones (Section 8.7)
As needed
- If the heater stops working or behaves unexpectedly, see Section 11 for troubleshooting before contacting our team.
